Fall Activities and Events Around Sarasota

October 5, 2020

With all of the spooky, festive fun (and none of the chilly weather, of course) there’s nowhere better than Florida to enjoy the fall. Whether you’re a fan of classic frights, fall-themed treats, or even just the change of pace, there’s something fun waiting for you outside your new home in Sarasota! Take a look at a few outdoor activities and upcoming events around Sarasota to enjoy.

Events in Sarasota this Fall

32nd Annual Fruitville Grove Pumpkin Fest : If you’re looking for a fun outing with your grandkids, this beloved festival is on for every weekend in October! Get into the fall spirit with hay rides, pony rides, pumpkin painting, live music, a petting zoo, and more! Everything you love about the new season is right here in Sarasota.

Sarasota Farmers Market : One of the best parts about fall? The flavorful, locally grown food, of course! Support local Florida vendors and stop by this non-profit market on Saturdays from 7 AM to 1 PM for fresh produce, food and beverages, plants, artisan goods, and anything delicious to make a fall meal with in your kitchen!

A Taste of Sarasota : Calling all foodies! On Wednesday, October 7, from 5:30 to 8 PM, the Sarasota Event Center will host incredible food tastings from over 17 local eateries. Buy your tickets today and discover a new favorite restaurant (or even revisit some of your favorites)!

Sarasota Botanical Gardens : If you love beautiful plants, community, and getting your hands a little dirty, you’ll be happy to know that every Friday from 8 to 11 AM, the Sarasota Botanical Gardens host an open workday where both members and non-members can join in on the maintenance of the community showplace!

Chalk Festival : Yes, there’s a festival dedicated to chalk art… and it’s the coolest thing you’ll see all fall! Tentatively scheduled for November 13-15, you’ll fulfill all of your artistic dreams as you watch hundreds of the area’s most talented artists turn the road into a “museum-in-motion.” Talk about fall magic.

Spooktacular Halloween Party : Halloween may look a little different this year, but there are still ways for your grandkids to enjoy the festive fun! This event at Stage Door Studios is a safe alternative to typical trick-or-treating and involves a costume contest, classic treats, fun crafts, a scavenger hunt, and more.

The Legend of Sleepy Hollow : We think that spooky theater is best enjoyed outdoors! On October 17, The Players Centre for Performing Arts will put an outdoor adaptation of The Legend of Sleepy Hollow at the Sarasota Polo Club. BYO blankets and chairs and enjoy food trucks as you experience this haunted tale!
